Current Focus in Virology Research

Current studies of virology include studies of the mechanism of HIV replication and etiology. Diseases such as prion disease, Alzheimer's disease, and HIV1-related dementia. Other studies include chronic and latent infections caused by viruses such as Epstein-Barr and Kaposi's sarcoma-related herpesviruses and herpes simplex. Researchers are also studying virus-hosted interactions, as well as virus-induced cellular transformation mechanisms.Current studies of virology include studies of the  mechanism of HIV replication and etiology.
